The Role:

This is a newly created role sitting within our Engineering Service/ Project Delivery team, based at Stansted Airport. Working closely with the Programme Managers, Project Managers and Project Sponsors you will be applying feasibility and concept development activities to support robust business case development and solution development for key projects at both Manchester and Stansted. Therefore, some travel should be expected.

You will be ensuring that delivery teams are in a strong position to deliver successfully, and provide strategic advice and support to business decision makers in shaping the future plan and the future portfolio funnel of projects.

Typical duties will include:

·       Reviewing, analysing and prioritising the top 20% of projects which represent 80% of the portfolio

·       Support business decisions in the early development of further major above plan schemes

·       Direction of 3rd party design teams

·       Prioritise and define resource requirements for the role holder’s portfolio

·       Deliver the annual CAPEX plan across sites through robust early development works.


This is a senior role, and requires significant experience within strategic development and front-end project development. You will have a relevant university degree and be Chartered Engineer or Chartered Surveyor accredited.

Candidates with previous aviation experience will be of highly regarded, but this is not essential. It is however, essential to have experience in large and small greenfield and brownfield project delivery experience within mature assets, be a commercially minded leader and have highly developed stakeholder management skills with demonstrable ability to drive and influence performance.
