Job Description

  • Training Manager (Soft Services) - Stansted Airport
  • Permanent Role
  • 3 + years management and training experience in a soft service capacity


Working in the Soft Services team, the purpose of this role is to ensure that cleaning and waste standards are met across all areas of the Airport and training needs for the team are analysed, identified and delivered. To be considered you will need to have 3+ years of Management experience in a soft services environment with excellent knowledge of cleaning machinery and techniques, alongside proven experience in understanding and delivering training requirements for large teams.


Principle Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring the cleaning and waste standards are met across all areas of the airport
  • Responsible for identifying training needs and arranging for those to be met including delivering some training needs on site
  • Responsible for health and safety and promoting a culture of H&S awareness including tool box talks, near miss data and promoting Vision Zero to all colleagues
  • To identify innovative solutions to promote enhanced cleaning
  • Continually identify new and emerging technologies and service improvements
  • Delivery of the induction training to new starters supporting the internal reinforcement of MAG Values and Core Behaviour Framework
  • Conducting training needs analysis and maintenance of the company skills matrix
  • Scheduling and maintaining all mandatory training, including refresher training
  • Conducting on site assessments of all staff’s competence



Training is a key element to this role and you will need proven experience in understanding training requirements for large teams, producing training material and delivering on-site training sessions to help drive performance.  We want someone who is pro-active and can drive the team to meet the health and safety targets in line with our Vision Zero policy.


Other skills required include:

  • IOSH or NEBOSH desirable 
  • Minimum of three years at a management level in a soft services environment
  • Excellent knowledge of cleaning machinery and techniques
  • Audit and data interpretation
  • Able to influence and communicate to all levels of internal and external stakeholders
  • IT literate
  • A strong learning and development background with supporting qualification
  • Creation and modification of in-house training materials
  • Able to motivate and influence at all levels


Salary – £35,898.00


This role is Monday to Friday - 9am - 5pm (flexibility needed on occassion)
