Stansted is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Operative to support maintain the landscaped infrastructure at the Airport, carrying out landscape maintenance to the highest standard and observing best horticultural practices.

 

The Role

 

You will ensure the green estate around the Airport is maintained and complete scheduled maintenance programmes as directed. You will ensure all machinery used in the maintenance of the green estate is maintained in a safe condition and liaise with the Ground Maintenance Supervisor where required. 

 

Principle Accountabilities

 

  • To work in a team, proactively ensuring that the landscape infrastructure (both interior and exterior) is maintained within regulatory, safety, quality and performance standards
  • Ensure that all plant and equipment is maintained in a safe operational condition. Identify promptly any faults and report to the appropriate person(s) for action
  • Safe operation of machinery, wearing the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
  • Winter maintenance activities which include weekend and night work on Over Time.  This will be on shift rotation
  • Be responsible for the execution of maintenance tasks as defined in the grounds schedule
  • Ensure all reactive work is acted upon and completed in line with any service level agreements and customer requirements
  • Be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety, safe working practices and legislation relevant to the External Engineering Unit

 

You 

 

As the successful candidate you will be happy to work as part of a team or on your own, using your initiative. Ideally you will have a professional qualification in Amenity Horticulture/Landscape Maintenance/Arboriculture, a Pa1/Pa6 certificate in safe use of pesticides and a full UK driving licence preferably with trailer towing experience, although training will be provided. To be successful in this role, you will have a high energy and can-do attitude. You must be able to deliver on time and to the highest standard.
