What will I be doing as a Airport Security Officer?
In this exciting role you will get involved in;
✈ Conducting hand searches of cabin luggage and passengers as required
✈ Operating high-tech security equipment such as X-Ray machines and body scanners
✈ Patrolling our Terminals
✈ Checking of staff ID cards and passenger boarding cards before entering the security area
What contract is available?
We are currently offering permanent annualised hours contracts. Our annualised hours ‘super-flex’ contracts are based on a guaranteed minimum of 1040 hours a year, which equates to 20 hours a week, paid monthly in arrears. Due to current passenger volumes, colleagues on super-flex contracts are typically working 30 hours a week, with quieter periods expected in January and February. Colleagues on these contracts may be required to work additional hours, especially during peak periods – Easter, Summer and Christmas. Flexibility is therefore essential, as both hours and shift patterns can change at a week’s notice.
In recognition of this flexibility, super-flex contracts attract a shift premium of 27.5% paid on the 1040 guaranteed hours worked each year. Our rate of pay is:
£10.45 rising to £11.57 (after probation), plus shift allowance of (27.5%). Please note - this will be paid and shown on payslips as a set monthly value.

What are the position requirements?
No security experience is required as we pride ourselves in offering full training, but you do need to have experience of working in a customer focused environment. Naturally, we want to see enthusiasm, a pro-active attitude and your ability to deliver the first-class customer service. As the face of MAG we need you to be well presented, punctual and focused on attention to detail.
Please note, all candidates must have perfect colour vision & the role will require long periods of standing, bending and walking.
If you’re successful you will be made a conditional offer subject to Pre- Employment checks and passing your 3 week level 1 training course. Checks include: A Criminal Record Check, 5 years employment history and Counter Terrorism Check.
