Reporting to the Commercial Trading Manager within the Stansted (STN) retail team, this role is the key relationship contact between the consolidation centre, external audit partners, internal stakeholders and commercial partners. It will ensure efficient cost effective, compliant and safe logistics processes and maximise retail operation sales and customer service.

The Role

  • Oversee the consolidation centre operation, ensuring STN contractual requirements are met
  • Key contact for Logistics Operator and Commercial Partners
  • Plan/co-ordinate peak seasons to maximise sales opportunities for retail partners
  • Ensure logistics operation is cost efficient
  • Establish additional lines of revenue through logistics services
  • Work with all retail logistics operators and STN stakeholders to ensure safe, cost effective and efficient operation of logistics processes
  • Carry out regular reviews with both retail and logistics partners to understand performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, performance and revenue
  • Manage the Health and Safety programme for the Commercial team including contingency planning, Fire Safety and Health and Safety
  • Manage the relationship with external audit partners, meeting contractual requirements and review meetings
  • Work with internal and external audit partners, and retail partners to close out Health & Safety issues
  • Be the key operational contact for the Commercial team ensuring units remain operational to drive sales and customer experience while meeting STN assets policies and standards
  • Ensure strong working relationships with STN Terminal Operations teams to support key operational events
  • To be an active member of the STN Incident Management Team (IMT)
  • Review and update practice and procedures for the logistics process, both within the consolidation centre and Terminal
  • Review and implement pricing structures


For this role, experience of working in a logistics operational environment is important. Ideally you will have worked in a fast-paced operational retail environment and worked within a commercial function. You will be committed to continuous improvement and have previous experience of planning, processes and procedures. A good understanding of compliance, regulations and quality assurance is advantageous for this role, alongside analytical and report writing skills. You will have great communication skills and be confident conversing with multiple stakeholders. Please note this role may include occasional out of hours working.
