This role will coordinate the Airport’s emergency and resilience plans to ensure compliance is maintained with all relevant safety regulations, the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 and other relevant requirements.  The successful candidate will coordinate the Airport’s modular exercise programme in accordance with all relevant regulations and support the Business Resilience Team with the administration of training courses and audits.

Principal Accountabilities

 

  • Support development of the Airport’s emergency and business continuity plans in accordance with all relevant legislation and requirements. 
  • Coordinate meetings and committees chaired by the department. This will include organising meetings, preparing and circulating papers and taking minutes. 
  • Coordinate and administer the Airport’s modular exercise programme in accordance with relevant regulations. 
  • Provide support to the Airport’s emergency planning and business continuity audit programmes. 
  • Deputise as required at external meetings such as the Local Resilience Forum, UK Aviation Emergency Planning Group and Port Health meetings.
  • Support the Airport’s Incident Management Team as required and maintain own competency in this area. 
  • Coordinate production and distribution of statistical reports, including reports for all areas of the department as well as operational reports for the division.  
  • Support the Business Resilience Team with the administration of training courses and audits.  This includes production of training and audit materials, scheduling audits with internal and external departments and invoicing course attendees.

Decision-Making

  • Ensure all emergency planning and business continuity documentation is reviewed, updated and published on time and to a high standard. 
  • Ensure the airport’s exercise programme is coordinated and documented, including scheduling of exercises, coordinating attendance, supporting the Emergency Planning and Resilience Manager with the administration of exercises and minuting all table top exercises and debriefs. 
  • Ensure that all department committees are scheduled in advance and that relevant paperwork is produced and distributed in an expedient manner.   
  • Ensure that all course attendees are invoiced in a timely manner and that accurate records are maintained. 

You

For this role a qualification in emergency planning (or similar) or relevant experience in a similar role is essential. 

Business continuity and Airport operations experience is desirable, alongside knowledge of aerodrome emergency planning requirements (safety and security) and UK emergency planning requirements (Civil Contingencies Act 2004). Knowledge of BCI (business continuity and resilience) Good Practice Guidelines will be useful for this role.

The successful candidate will have excellent written and communication skills, alongside strong organisation and interpersonal skills. You will be capable of working under pressure, managing stakeholders and have experience of prioritising workload to meet deadlines without close supervision.  You will be a team player with close attention to detail.
