Reporting into the Aviation Director, this role will develop a pipeline for potential future airline customers and deliver new airline customers as planned in MAG Budget and Business Plan. The successful candidate will be responsible for the recruitment of new airline carriers and aviation revenue.

The Role

  • Develop and deliver an Aviation Sales Strategy for London Stansted Airport, continuously improving the model and drive maximum opportunities
  • Ensure strategic targets are translated into action with proactive pitches to airlines for new route development and developing and exploiting long-term strategic relationships
  • Deliver against key performance indicators (KPIs) and communicate sales activity on a weekly basis to the Commercial Leadership team
  • Together with the Marketing Team, develop a robust sales strategy and optimize all channels as a means of supporting route development
  • Work closely with pricing and analysis team to input in to the overall pricing policy and into specific airline pricing agreements
  • Build strong international relationships with airline partners at senior levels, using Account Management principles
  • Drive awareness of Manchester Airport Group (MAG) Airports through active participation at aviation conferences
  • Develop relationships and interact with regional stakeholders and functions, to develop an in depth understanding of the aviation market to secure common business to business (B2B) activities


For this role you will have previous Business, Sales and/or Marketing experience at Manager level. The ideal candidate will have worked within Aviation Sales development with a track record of success in managing this area. An active address book in the aviation sector and experience of exposure to the industry are particularly advantageous for this role.
