Stansted Airport is a key catalyst for growth and jobs and the biggest single site employer in the in the East of England with over 11,000 people working for 200 on-airport companies.
Stansted Employment & Skills Academy is a walk in facility located next to the terminal building and provides a service to any individual looking for employment and apprenticeship opportunities at the airport as well as a tailored service to meet the needs of airport employers.
The Stansted Employment & Skills Academy opened in March 2008 and is managed by Urban Futures, a regeneration agency based in north London.
The Academy aims to continue the best practices derived from the London Stansted Employment Partnership (LSEP) with the added value of being based next-door to the terminal building.
The original LSEP sought to promote real opportunities for development, training and career progression at the airport within the north and east of London. This constitutes the London Boroughs of Haringey, Enfield, Waltham Forest, Newham, Tower Hamlets, Hackney, Havering and Redbridge.
The Academy aims to continue this work but also to provide a service to any individual looking for employment at the airport, regardless of where they live, and a tailored service to meet the needs of airport employers. All services which Stansted Academy provide are free to candidates and employers from within the wider Stansted Community.
Urban Futures work closely with the other key stakeholders to ensure there is a joined-up approach to identifying individuals and matching them to training and employment opportunities at Stansted.
